We have had overnight lows in the high 40's. This is a welcome feel from the hot sticky weather from the last couple weeks. Five more days until bear season. I need to set up a couple more ladder stands this weekend, place a couple barrels and start baiting on the first. Lots like there will be a lot of competition again this year with natural foods. Seems to be another good nut and berry year. this means we will have another great year stocking through the oaks and beechnuts. This weather will surely start the moose scraping off the velvet. With all the scouting we have done to date ,our A2 and B clients will surely have some great opportunities.

Today is the first day of the bear season. The baits were baited early this morning and already 4
sightings and one shot fired. Still hunted through the oaks after baiting sites and passed on a
hundred pounder I chased down a nut tree. Looks to be a good season. Another strong year for
natural foods. Had 41deg heading out the door, getting that fall feel to the air, much waited for.
Still some openings. limited tags available.

Great weekend of moose scouting. Morning temps were 30-36, Bulls were grunting. Spotted
Several moose each morning , some really nice bulls between 50"-60". Got pics of one 60" from
about 35' away. Cow calling still a little early but the cold mornings are turning them on. Bear baits are being slammed, baiting as the barrels become empty. One small bear taken last night at
107lbs. We are having nightly sightings. Still some openings for the moose hunt, call on the bear
hunts. Every day that goes by is a day closer to out favorite time of the year..Moose hunting. Being
out scouting several times a week has really got me looking forward to the season.
